EVS. Packing. Move. Quit your job. Volunteer. Live abroad. Miss home. Meet new people. Get new experiences. See new things. Enjoy.
These things have been going in and out in my head for the last month. These words are also keywords of what I´m going to write my blog about. (And lot of other things too!)
So what this is all about? Well, I will tell you. European Voluntary Servise (EVS) is part of new Erasmus+-program that has been valid since beginning of year 2014. Before that the program was known as Youth in Action. The new program is “bigger” than the old one and it provides possibilities to be international and mobile in European Union for young people under 30 year old. And now I get to be part of that! I will tell you later different possibilities what you can do and also what can you do if you’re over 30! Age is not a limit.
So, I’m going next week (!!) to Croatia for six months to do a volunteer work in an organization that provides activities to young people and people who work with young people. They’re using adventure and outdoor training methods in their work and now I will participate too. Part of my job description is planning those events and activities, guide them and be useful hopefully many ways. I also get to write and report project that are applied (and will be applied) from the EU. Social media will be one part of the work as well so you can expect pictures, links and more interesting stuff also.
I’m taking with me dear good friend Pena. You can see him in the picture on the right. It’s Pena in Stockholm last September. Pena really likes to be photographed and I don’t so we made agreement that you readers can see what Pena will see and learn for next six months. Sometimes you maybe see glimpse of me too.
And please forgive me my English. It’s not very usual to me write lot of stuff in English so now I’m practicing that as well. I hope I will improve during this next six months.
Welcome aboard!
